When Seeing Isn’t Believing: US and Talmudic Law and Ethics
As generative AI blurs the boundary between truth and illusion, we face a profound challenge: can we still believe what we see and hear? From courtrooms to classrooms, journalism to daily life, deepfake technology forces us to rethink what counts as “proof.”
This CLE-accredited webinar draws on both U.S. law and Talmudic ethics to explore how authenticity, truth, and integrity survive in an age of synthetic reality.
We’ll consider:
- When photos, videos, and recorded statements can all be fabricated, how can a court determine what’s truly admissible evidence?
- What new burdens of proof—and moral responsibilities—fall on lawyers, judges, and experts in verifying digital truth?
- How do ancient principles of eidus (testimony) and emes (truth) illuminate today’s evidentiary dilemmas?
- And beyond the courtroom, how do we as individuals safeguard trust and integrity in a world where deception is effortless?
Tuesday, February 3 | 12-1:45pm ET | via ZOOM
